ShopBack Pay will no longer be available in Malaysia from 25 March 2026 00:00 MYT. Until then, you can continue using ShopBack Pay. From 25 March 2026 00:00 MYT, it will no longer appear as a payment option in the ShopBack app.

ShopBack regularly reviews our product portfolio to prioritise investments that deliver the greatest value. Following this review, we are reallocating investment to areas of the ShopBack platform that best serve partners and customers in Malaysia. We prioritise products that can reliably scale impact and will continue to pilot new approaches, scaling only those that demonstrably create value.

All other ShopBack services remain fully available. We remain deeply committed to supporting our customers in Malaysia, and to growing our broader Cashback and rewards ecosystem.

When will retailers stop accepting ShopBack Pay?

Retailers will stop accepting ShopBack Pay as a payment method from 25 March 2026 00:00 MYT.

You can continue using ShopBack Pay to pay until then.

What happens if I try to use ShopBack Pay after 25 March 2026?

After 25 March 2026 00:00 MYT, ShopBack Pay will no longer appear as a payment option in the ShopBack app. If you try to scan a ShopBack Pay QR code, you will not be able to proceed with payment.

What happens to my Return Cashback?

From 2 March 2026, new Return Cashback earned via ShopBack Pay will no longer be available. That means any ShopBack Pay transactions made on or after 2 March 2026 will not earn new Return Cashback.

However, pending Return Cashback tracked in your lifetime earnings from ShopBack Pay purchases made before 2 March 2026 can still be confirmed.

Example:

  • You make a purchase on 1 March 2026 and earn $10 pending Return Cashback.
  • On 5 March 2026, you make another purchase at the same store using ShopBack Pay for the same amount. You will not earn $10 Return Cashback for this purchase.
  • However, the $10 pending Return Cashback from the 1st March purchase will be confirmed and credited to your Cashback balance as usual.

We understand that returning to the same retailer before 25 March 2026 may not be possible for everyone. To support you, we are making a one-time exception so you will not lose eligible Cashback you have already earned.

If you have pending Return Cashback from an in-store purchase made before 2 March 2026, you can confirm it by making any eligible online purchase through ShopBack before 25 March 2026, 00:00 MYT.

We hope this added flexibility makes it simpler for you to enjoy the Cashback you have already earned.

*Return Cashback is Cashback for ShopBack Pay purchases at participating offline retailers that is confirmed only after you use ShopBack Pay again at the same retailer within a set period.

Can I still earn Cashback with ShopBack?

Yes, all other ShopBack services remain fully available. You can continue earning Cashback online with thousands of online retailers across Malaysia.

What happens to my ShopBack account and Cashback balance?

Your ShopBack account stays active and unchanged. This update does not affect your existing Cashback balance, pending Cashback from non-ShopBack Pay merchants, or withdrawals.

Do I need to take any action?

No action is required unless you want to confirm pending Return Cashback earned before 2 March 2026:

  • To confirm at the same retailer:
    Make a ShopBack Pay purchase at that retailer before 25 March 2026.
  • If you cannot return to the retailer:
    Make an eligible online purchase via ShopBack with any online retailer before 25 March 2026, and we will confirm your pending Return Cashback.
    Confirmed Cashback will be credited according to our standard processing timelines.
